Colorado Springs, Colo. (Aug. 28, 2006) – Tina Pic (Dahlonega, Ga./Colavita-Cooking Light) and Floyd Landis (Murrieta, Calif.) maintained their lead on the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar standings for the third week in a row.

Neither Pic nor Landis competed in this weekend’s lone NRC event – the Chris Thater Memorial Criterium in Binghamton, N.Y. – but Pic’s commanding 2,106 points and Landis’ 1,270 points have points kept them atop the standings with five events left on the 43-race calendar.

Though Laura Van Gilder (Pocono Pines, Calif./TEAm Lipton) picked up her third career Chris Thater Memorial Criterium victory Saturday, she remains in third place in the standings.

TEAm Lipton once again sits atop the women’s team standings with 4,741 points, leaving the rest of the team standings unchanged.

Landis once again holds onto the lead in the men’s category with his wins in the Amgen Tour of California and the Ford Tour de Georgia, giving him 1,270 points. Though Landis has not raced since the 2006 Tour de France, his amassed points are still strong enough to keep him in the top position. The top-three positions remain unchanged, but Sergey Lagutin (UKR/Navigators) moved ahead of Juan Jose Haedo (ARG/Toyota-United) with 1,155 points versus Haedo’s 1,131 points to round out the top five.

The men’s team standings remain unchanged for a second week in a row, with Health Net holding onto its commanding lead of 4,944 points.
The USA Cycling National Racing Calendar continues Friday and Sunday with The Cliffs USA Cycling Professional Time Trial and Road Race Championships in Greenville, S.C.
